certificate expiring

When we signed the ListenUp Applets, we used a timestamp. Theoretically that means that JAR files signed when the certificate was valid will still work after the certificate expires. We can't sign with the expired certificate anymore But the JAR files should be OK.

That's the theory. There are indications from Thawte that older versions of Java clients may not recognize the time stamp.

Just to be safe, we will prepare signed versions of the old JAR files and have them ready on our site. We will also release a new signed version.

If the timestamp does not work as planned then you will need to replace the old jar files. You can replace with the same version or upgrade.

New JAR files that were signed with a new digital certificate are available here:

I have copied the new jar files over on my server and now I get this error:

This might be due to a problem on the website.
Or it could be due to a bug in ListenUp.

Oh! It appears the images did not get packed into the ListenUpTranscriber.jar package. I will rebuild those JARs immediately. Thanks for reporting this.

Note: this will only affect people using the transcription package.

The JAR files were rebuilt. The transcription JAR now has the image files that were missing. Please download the updated SDK here:
http://www.javasonics.com/downloads/download.php

Look for "listenup_20100412rs2" zip or tgz.

Sorry for the trouble. Thanks so much for reporting this!
