Transcription - Using the Philips Speech Mike

The Speech Mike is a popular handheld microphone. It has buttons that can be used to control ListenUp.

Note: SpeechMike Requires Windows OS and Sun Java!

Use this Applet parameter to add speech mike support:
<param name="useSpeechMike" value="yes">
<param name="enableSpeechMikeRecording" value="yes">
<param name="speechMikeBehavior" value="press">

For a description of the parameter, please view the reference document.

Also use the "ListenUpTranscriberSpeex.jar" in the ARCHIVES list in the Applet tag instead of "ListenUpSpeex.jar".

Please note that use of these transcription features requires a special license. Please contact us for details.

Speech Mike

The first time you run this application you will be asked to install a SpeechMikeServer program. This program communicates between ListenUp and the Speech Mike device. It will only work on Windows OS. If you do not have a Speech Mike then just skip the installation of the library.

  • Press and hold the red record button while recording.
  • Use the "<<" and ">>" buttons to move back and forth.
  • Use the EOL button to go the end of the recording.
