Are You Experiencing Problems Using Your Microphone or Audio Device?

If you are not able to record sounds in Windows Sound Recorder, you may be having a problem with your microphone or audio device.

1. Check to ensure that your microphone or audio device is plugged into the correct socket in your sound card. A simple mic should be plugged into the "mic" input; a mixer should be plugged into "line in".
2. If the microphone uses batteries, confirm that the battery is a good.
3. Take a look at our Microphone Matrix to see if your microphone is listed as compatible.
