Audio Troubleshooting Key for Windows Users: Device Configuration
Is Your Microphone Or Audio Device Properly Configured?
To Verify that your settings are properly configured:
- Select Start
- Select Settings
- Select Control panel
- Select Multimedia or Sounds & Audio Devices
- Select the Audio tab
- Go to the Sound Recording section and select the Volume button.
- If you are using a microphone, make sure that the tick box under Microphone is selected and the volume slider is above zero position.
- If you are using a tape recorder or mixer, make sure the tick box under Line In is selected and the volume slider is above zero position.
After making any necessary changes, try to record using Windows Sound Recorder again.
If you are NOT ABLE to record in Windows Sound Recorder, or if all your settings were already properly set, you may need to install or configure the software which came with your sound card.
